Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside Hotel
November 21, 2015The Tulip Inn Riverside Hotel in Amsterdam Holland is a 4-star business class hotel located on the outskirts of Amsterdam in the southeast.
Easy access to the center of the city is available with the metro on line 53, as the end line station Gaasperplas is approximately a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
The metro runs several times an hour and it takes roughly half an hour to reach Centraal Station.
Several busses also stop at the Gaasperplas station, making access to the city center available 24 hours a day.
The Tulip Inn Riverside has a restaurant, bar, and exercise room.
The restaurant closes before midnight, but after hours food is available from a takeaway service that delivers to the hotel.
Room 45 is a fairly sizey room with twin beds and nice decor. The room had a coffeemaker with coffee, tea, and cream replenished daily.
There was also a minibar fridge in the room.
The heat in the room did not seem to work properly. The room was a bit chilly and changing the electronic thermostat to the highest setting made no difference.
So a room change to room 19 was made, but the heat situation was just the same. Decor was the same in both rooms.
The beds were quite soft, not real firm, and not very comfortable. But the pillows weren't bad and sheets were nice.
The rooms had a nice desk area and nice lighting throughout the room, although you need to put in your room's keycard in the wall socket to have lighting. An electronic safe is available in the rooms which is very easy to use and require no deposit.
A thin panel television adorned the wall with a couple dozen channels, including RT.
Bathroom is nice and roomy with bathtub/shower combo and plenty of hot water. Shampoo and liquid soap is regularly replenished.
The rates here are very reasonable for a certain set of rooms in what can be described as the least desirable section of the hotel, that is, ground level where hotel guests regularly wander about and congregate to smoke just outside the rooms' windows.
