The Emerald Cup - a fall harvest gathering and cannabis trade show - was founded in 2003 by Tim Blake. It is billed as northern California's premier destination for medicinal marijuana.
According to founder Blake, it's also the world's largest outdoor medicinal cannabis competition, judging cannabis "grown in the sun as God intended." California's top growers go head-to head as a panel of judges picks out the best entries.
On December 10th and 11th, 2016, some 10,000 folks trekked to Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa California for the 13th edition of the event.
Attendees enjoyed pre-parties and after parties, workshops, a cannabis competition, and live music by the likes of Damian Marley, Stick Figure, Dirty Heads, Kabaka Pyramid, Vokab Kompany, Tribal Seeds, Thrive, California Honeydrops, Hirie, Raging Fyah and Nattali Rize.
