2015 Portland Cannabis Cup Canceled
Septmenber 1, 2015In what has become an all too familiar theme, another Cannabis Cup has been canceled. This time it's Portland Oregon.
Reason? Problems with local laws.
Portland marks the third Cannabis Cup in 2015 to be canceled.
The Seattle Cannabis Cup was canceled earlier this year also due to problems with local laws.
Then there's the Grand Daddy of them all - the legendary Amsterdam Cannabis Cup - which was quietly canceled this year after having ran anually for the previous 27 years. High Times has given no reason for the cancellation thus far, simply stating that the Jamaica Cannabis Cup is its replacement. This made evident only very recently.
When the city of Portland appeared to be a hopeless proposition for the Cannabis Cup, sights then shifted toward Milwaukie Oregon as a potential candidate to host the event.
But alas, that option also went up in smoke as a mixture of local laws, liquor licenses, and large venues proved fatal.
