2015 Denver Cannabis Cup Winners
April 21, 2015The Fourth Annual Denver Cannabis Cup was held for three days on the weekend of April 18-20, 2015.
Denver Mart was the location for the the festivities. Nighttime action came in the form of live music shows.
The Red Rocks Concert on Saturday featured SOJA, J-Boog & NAS. 4/20 Monday featured Fiddler's Green Concert with none other than Snoop Doggy Dogg.
Tens of thousands attended the Denver Cup in Colorado in this one of two US states that have legalized recreational marijuana (Washington the other).
Last minute changes to local regulations meant that only out of state vendors would be allowed to distribute cannabis at the event.
However reports came out of local vendors also distributing. And how the hell is an out of state vendor supposed to transport a quantity of marijuana across non-legal cannabis states?
2015 was a very shakey year for Cannabis Cups in general, with no less than four Cannabis Cup events having been canceled.
Included in that unfortunate group was the original Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, which was discretely canceled after running for 27 consecutive years.
Ironically the three US cancelations (Seattle, Portland, Central Cal) were due to more relaxed cannabis regulations. With relaxed regulations, public events that feature cannabis consumption are now more strictly regulated as rules are very mercural these days.
Was there any good news for 2015 Cannabis Cups?
Yes, the very first Jamaica Cannabis Cup was held in Negril.
