Citiez Hotel Amsterdam Review

November 2017

Citiez hotel is located outside of the western portion of the A10 ring road in an area of Amsterdam Holland known as Amsterdam Nieuw-West, on Osdorpplein 372 to be exact.

Osdorpplein is served well by Tram 17 and Bus 69. Catch them at stop Ruimzicht by the hotel.

Osdorpplein is a wonderful, ethnic town square with numerous stores and restaurants.

HEMA, Action, Albert Heijn, McDonald's and more are here, as is Westmarket.

Westmarket is a building housing numerous shops and eateries. Afghani, Turkish and Surinamese are some of the food vendors serving up delicious dishes in Westmarket.

An Afghan or Suriname sandwich here is filled with exotic spices and flavors that leave the mouth watering long after.

There is also a Lidl store just two blocks down from Osdorpplein, and the very interesting Coffeeshop Sensemillia is across the street, adjacent to a body of water called Sloterplas.

Room 157 at Citiez Hotel is quite small - the width of the room being the exact size of the room's double bed. No lie. It is wall-to-wall bed and that's it for room width. The room is located one flight of stairs upwards.

A small sink on small countertop adorns the foot of the bed, with flat screen TV above. English channels were BBC 1 and 2. There were several radio stations, including classical music on channel 36

Shelf space was found under the foot of the bed and under the sink. Several hooks with hangers were found on the wall.

Behind the sink was a small but functionable bathroom with toilet and shower. The shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water.

Lighting was pretty nice, with 2 night lights on each side of the bed (separately controlled), a light above the sink, and a light in the little walk space outside the bathroom and in front of the bed.

The room was very clean and the Wifi internet worked well. The window behind the bed, which had a small section that could be partially opened, looked upon the town square below. A Santa Claus type festivity for the whole family was held on the square one weekend.

There's a breakfast room in the back and a cafe makes up the reception room in front.

The room averaged $75 per night for a Friday thru Wednesday stay in November, which was a last minute booking.
