1990 Cannabis Cup
The third annual Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam Holland took place in November 1990.
Judges for this edition of the Cannabis Cup included Gilbert Shelton and Paul Mavrides, who are the artists behind the cult comic strip Furry Freak Brothers. Also doing the judging were the creators of the 1960's Dutch counterculture movement Provo.
Once again, as was the case in the 1989 Cannabis Cup, the big winner was Nevil's Seed Bank. Northern Lights Number Five was their top winning entry.
The event also marked the very first awarding at the Cannabis Cup of the Freedom Fighter of the Year award, presented to the individual demonstrating outstanding commitment and achievement in the struggle to legalize cannabis.
